A new rolling method of thin walled ring was innovated by analyzing the ring rolling stiffness condition. In this method, 12 pairs of drive rollers and idle rollers replaced traditional single drive roller and idle roller, which enhanced the stiffness of rolling system. The feasibility of the method was verified by finite element simulation. It can roll a ring with ball cross section from rectangular cross section and keep circularity precision. The success of finite element modeling will be the foundation stone in breakthrough and progress for the thin walled ring rolling process theories and rolling machine design.
