The effect of strip velocity on the attentuation distance of concentrated loads for a thin, moving, infinite, elastic strip is considered. The strip is loaded at infinity with a uniform tensile stress. The range of velocity of interest is from zero to the lowest wave velocity in the strip. The results indicate that the attenuation distance decreases with increased strip velocity. Furthermore, the attenuation distance is larger for symmetric loadings than for unsymmetric loadings. As the limiting strip velocity is approached, the solution degenerates in such a manner that the attenuation distance approaches a finite limiting value. The limiting strip velocity is below the lowest wave velocity of the strip. Finally, a procedure for determining the stress and displacement distributions is presented.
