This paper is based on the improved combined diesel or gas turbine power plant experiment rig. Considering the effect of many frictions which have been ignored of each part in the synchronous-self-shifting clutch, a new model of the synchronous-self-shifting clutch is set up and made for the dynamic real time simulation by Matlab/Simulink, which provides the theory for studying the dynamic characteristics of the synchronous-self-shifting clutch on the main engine changeover, and it can be used for further study of the flexibility of the CODOG power plant.
