Accurate modelling of underwater sound transmission through periodically structured acoustic tiles relies on the proper characterization of dynamic material properties. In this work, the measured dynamic response of a polyurethane resin was used to numerically predict the transmission and reflection loss spectra of tiles containing periodic cylindrical inclusions of different orientation and material. Model results are compared with experimentally measured values and the findings confirm the accuracy of the methods used for material characterization, tile fabrication, acoustic response measurement, and numerical modelling.
