Description and Operating Experience of Three Regenerative-Cycle Gas Turbines Installed in an Argentine Portland Cement Plant

The author reviews the performance data of three gas turbine units installed in his company’s two Portland cement plants. A brief backgrround of the plants’ earlier power sources is given, including the reasons for conversion to gas turbine power. The considerable economic advantages of the changeover to gas turbine are stressed and the regenerator investment recovery is outlined. Figures show a detailed layout of each plant.
