This paper describes the design and calibration of a device for measuring the mass flow-specific heat (ṁC p ) product of a heat transfer fluid in situ in a closed loop system. Accuracy of the meter is ±0.07 percent to ±0.12 percent over its operating range of 18 to kW K−1 , depending on the calibration procedure which has to be adopted.
